Release date: April 4, 2003 Record Turnout of MG's to Race at VIR Please spread this MG Racing News. Don't miss the chance to see all these great MG's racing, and have some fun! This is a special bulletin being sent to all MG clubs within traveling distance of Virginia International Raceway (Located near Danville, Va.). This June 6-7-8, VIR is holding their "Gold Cup" vintage race weekend. As part of that event, in cooperation with the "MG Vintage Racers", there will be an "All MG" race on Saturday, June 7th. This is the first time this large of an MG race has been seen in the southeast, and it presents an opportunity not to be missed by MG enthuiasts! So, we want to be sure this information gets out, and is shared with MG clubs, their members, and all MG enthusiasts in the Southeast. Momentum is building - as of the end of March, a record breaking 51 MG's have ALREADY pre-registered to race in Virginia International Raceway's "Gold Cup" vintage race weekend of June 6-7-8. Coming from places as far away as Canada, Colorado, and California, these MG racer's ranks are expected to swell to 60 or more before the green flag drops on the featured all MG race that weekend. Entries so far range from a 1933 L type MG, to T's, A's, B's, Midgets and MG specials. This race is also the MG Vintage Racers designated "Focus Event" for 2003 and they are helping to support this exciting weekend of MG racing and MG camaraderie, both on and off the track. Located in the beautiful rolling hills of southern Virginia, VIR has one of the best race courses and modern facilities of any race track. As well as a great race track, it is also a great spectator track! And at this vintage race, you are free to move around the track to watch, and to walk around the paddock and talk with the racers - this is NOT racing like you see on TV!
